Storks Take Home 2-0 Win Over Maui
|
Yasu pitcher Matt Mayer did his part in helping his team beat the Maui Mahi-Mahi, 2-0. The right-hander kept opposing batters from doing too much damage. Yasu, at 11-13, holds down 4th place in the Hawaiian League Ninja.
The Storks got a gift in the bottom of the fifth inning, when they were leading 1-0. With two out and runners on 1st and 3rd, Jesús Mejía reached on an error by the 3B, driving in 1 run. It made the score 2-0, Yasu.
In postgame remarks, Mayer hailed his team's "single-minded focus."
