The Waimalu Nene knocked off the Ewa Beach Imperialists, 8-7, at Waimalu Grounds. Phillip Hall was a big reason Waimalu won. The designated hitter was 2 for 3 with a home run and a walk. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. Waimalu reliever Sergio Rocha snagged the win, upping his record to 3-1. Ewan Quigley shouldered the loss. Micheal McShane saved it for Waimalu.

Waimalu took the lead, 8-6, on Darren Paynter's 1st double of the season. The bases-clearing double, which Paynter hit in the bottom of the eighth, made Ewa Beach pitcher Jim MacElligot wince.

"What's not to like about a win?" said Paynter.

Losses have been few and far between for the Imperialists so far this season. Their record drops to 14-7.
