Swamp Dragons Spill Vulcans, 5-1
|
Osakasayama registered a win at Recoil Stadium by beating the Mauna Loa Vulcans, 5-1. Pitcher Toyonobu Ohayashi was one reason why the Swamp Dragons triumphed. The winner was Ohayashi. He threw 6.1 innings of shutout ball. The loser was Chang-keun Pak. The Swamp Dragons, now 15-6, have played well so far.
The Swamp Dragons got a big at-bat from right fielder Walt Nelligan. For the game, Nelligan was 1 for 3 with a home run, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. In the top of the second, with the bases empty, he stroked a solo home run. His 2nd home run of the season gave Osakasayama a 1-0 lead.
"Whatever it takes to win," said Nelligan. "That's our attitude."
