The Vulcans grabbed a win, 3-2, at Blacksnakes Ballpark, overcoming a fine effort from Kobayashi pitcher Addy Wemerman. Wemerman went 5 innings and allowed 1 run. Shao-qi Bu picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 1-1. Tyler Brown was tagged with the loss. The Fireflies fall to 9-11 and continue their uneven start to the 2042 season.
Ray Griffin, who is tied for 7th in the HL with a .438 on-base percentage, helped out the Mauna Loa cause in the top of the sixth inning with a 2-run home run. For the game, the center fielder went 1 for 4 with a home run. He drove in 2 runs and scored once.
After the game, Mauna Loa manager Juan Flores applauded the team's effort. "They busted their tails out there," he said.
