Fireflies Lose Late to Vulcans
|
The Kobayashi Fireflies got a sterling performance from pitcher Munro Torr, but the Mauna Loa Vulcans still prevailed, 6-1. Torr threw 6.1 innings of shutout ball. Jesús Torres earned the save, his 1st. The Vulcans raised their record to 12-7.
Nicky Desforges delivered a big hit for Mauna Loa. The designated hitter drilled a 2-run home run in the top of the eighth inning to put the Vulcans ahead, 2-0. It was his only hit, but it was a beauty.
"We were able to get some things going offensively," said Desforges.
