Kilauea Nets 2-1 Win Versus Coconuts
|
Foresters Ballpark featured a tense pitchers' duel.
The Volcanoes faced a stiff challenge from Waikiki pitcher Kian Burke, but persevered to claim a win at Foresters Ballpark. The final score was 2-1. Burke went 8 innings and allowed 2 runs. The win went to Xiong Lok in relief, making him now 1-2. Kian Burke took the loss for Waikiki.
Matthias Wasser drove in one run for Kilauea. The 22-year old first baseman had a key at-bat in the bottom of the eighth. With one out and runners on 1st and 3rd, he broke a 1-1 tie with a run-scoring sacrifice fly off Kian Burke. It was his 8th RBI of the season.
"We just didn't score enough runs to win," said Waikiki manager Taisuke Endo.
The Volcanoes, with just their 3rd win so far in 2042, have yet to catch fire.
