Nene Zip Past Oceanic, 7-2
|
The Waimalu Nene picked up a win at Waimalu Grounds, defeating the Mokule'ia Oceanic, 7-2. Starting pitcher Dan Eassson was an essential part of his team's success. The Nene have hit the ground running, raising their record to 10-5. While it's still too soon to talk about Waimalu hoisting their 1st Surf and Snow Cup trophy, fans are getting excited about their strong start.
Julián Gil, who is tied for 5th in the HL in RBI with 14, chipped in a 3-run home run for Waimalu in the bottom of the sixth. For the game, the shortstop had 2 hits in 5 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 1 run scored, and 3 RBI.
"Dan did a heck of a job," said Waimalu manager Miguel García.
