The Hilo Hoops earned a win at Hilo Ballpark, knocking off the Kobayashi Fireflies, 5-4. On the bump for Hilo was right-hander Ray Bernard. He had a starring role in the triumph. The loss puts Kobayashi at 9-6.

Hilo got a knockout punch from Sadanobu Jouda. The second baseman hammered a solo home run in the bottom of the ninth inning to win the game. It might've been his only hit, but it decided the outcome.

"We couldn't have scripted it any better," Jouda said in his postgame press conference.
