The 7-3 Lana'i City win over Shirakawa was due largely to Tomás García. The Pineapples left fielder went 2-3 with a home run and a walk. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. The Halberds, now 5-12, continue their slow start.

García had a game-changing home run in the top of the sixth. On a first pitch fastball from Kuemon Nishida, he banged a 2-run home run to left-center, giving the Pineapples a 4-3 lead. It was the 1st home run of the year for García.

"We can always improve and get better, but we're feeling confident after that win," said García.
