Ewa Beach right-hander Mike Russell pitched his team to victory over the Hilo Hoops at Rison Grounds. The final score was 5-4. The save went to Alejandro Solano, number 6 for him. The Imperialists, now 9-3, have been on fire in the early going.

The Imperialists got a big at-bat from center fielder Jeff McCoy. For the game, McCoy went 1 for 3 with a double and a walk. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. In the bottom of the fourth, with runners on 2nd and 3rd, he stroked a 2-run double. His 3rd double of the season gave Ewa Beach a 5-3 lead.

"You get some opportunities, you better take advantage of them," said Hilo manager Ray Gilbert.
