Waimalu Gets Riveting Walk-Off Win
The Mauna Loa Vulcans were defeated, 4-3, by the Waimalu Nene at Waimalu Grounds, even though Luis Miranda pitched well for Mauna Loa. Waimalu reliever Brett Nelson picked up the win, upping his record to 1-0. Luis Miranda took the loss. With the win, Waimalu improves its record to 7-4.

The decisive blow was delivered by Nobuhisa Omori in the bottom of the ninth when he hit a solo home run off 22-year old right-handed pitcher Luis Miranda to win the game for Waimalu. The home crowd went nuts.

"This place sure got loud," said Miguel García, the Waimalu manager.
