In a low-scoring affair between the Fairbanks Grunts and the Skagway Prospectors, pitcher Dave Durán was the difference between victory and defeat. The Fairbanks right-hander earned accolades for his stellar performance in the 3-1 Grunts win. Fairbanks has run its win streak to 4 straight.
Fairbanks took a 3-1 lead on Howard Clark's 19th home run of the season. The 2-run home run, which Clark hit in the bottom of the eighth, left Skagway pitcher Luke Jones visibly frustrated.
