Wallbangers Pick Up 5-2 Win
|
The Homer Wallbangers knocked off the Ketchikan Salmon, 5-2, in Alaskan League action at Lions Ballpark. Homer pitcher and Ansong, South Korea, native Jun-hun Yi had an outstanding performance. Vincente González claimed the win after being brought in from the bullpen. The right-hander allowed 1 run on 2 hits in 2 innings. His record stands at 2-4. Chris Lithgow was credited with the save for Homer, his 7th of the season.
An inflection point occurred with two out in the bottom of the fourth. That's when Wallbangers designated hitter Erwin Frow hit a sinker from Juan Rivera for a 2-run single. Just like that, Homer was up, 2-1.
"Jun-hun was able to locate to both sides, up and down," said Homer manager Armando Tapia.
The second-place Wallbangers have a record of 57-51.
