Arctic Blast Handed 5-3 Loss by Anchorage
|
The Anchorage Mighty Moose picked up a win at Citizens Ballpark, knocking off the Barrow Arctic Blast, 5-3. Starting pitcher Yujiro Komatsu was a big reason why. Komatsu, the winner, moves to 1-2. He threw 6 innings of 3-hit ball, while fanning 10 and giving up 2 walks. Pat Clark earned the save, his 11th, for the Mighty Moose.
Takafumi Samurakami, who was drafted in the 2nd round of the 2039 draft, aided the Anchorage cause with a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the bottom of the third. For the game, the second baseman drew 1 walk in 4 trips to the plate.
"I just try to go out and give it 100 percent every game," Samurakami told a local reporter after the game. "That's my mantra, and like today, it will pay off more often than not."
Their 58-47 record puts the Mighty Moose second in the Alaskan League Oiler.
