Salmon Pull Off Thrilling 7-6 Win in Extras
|
The Ketchikan Salmon, with some walk-off drama, delighted their fans at Spectres Ballpark.
The Ketchikan Salmon did just enough to secure a victory over the Anchorage Mighty Moose, 7-6, in 13 innings at Spectres Ballpark. Nobody did more than left fielder Ron Arellano. The win belonged to Bill Cordero in relief. His record improves to 2-0. Pat Clark took the loss for Anchorage.
The game was still up for grabs in the bottom of the 13th. With two out, Arellano hit a fastball from Pat Clark for a run-scoring single. The Salmon, in dramatic fashion, had a walk-off win.
"It's a thrill to get that kind of win," Arellano said.
By defeating Anchorage, the second-place Salmon improved to 67-37.
