The Barrow Arctic Blast picked up a win at Lions Ballpark, dropping the Homer Wallbangers, 5-2. Takuji Hirano, who is rated as the 70th best prospect by BNN, was the difference-maker. Barrow has a record of 48-52, placing them third in the Alaskan League Klondike.
Barrow left fielder Guo Chi contributed a timely at-bat in the top of the fifth. With two down, he hit a splitter to left field for a 2-run single. It was his 30th hit of the season and put the Arctic Blast ahead, 4-1.
"We did a lot of things right," said Chi.
