Capitals Rebuff Bowheads, 2-1
|
The Sitka Capitals and Kivalina Bowheads completed their game despite the rain.
Sitka Capitals starter Charlie Caine turned in a sterling performance against the Kivalina Bowheads, leading his team to a slim, 2-1 win. The first-place Bowheads dropped to 64-36.
Chip Foster, who is tied for 6th in the AL in triples with 4, had a direct impact on the outcome. Foster contributed a run-scoring ground out in the top of the fifth inning to put Sitka up, 2-1.
"Charlie's a gamer," said Sitka manager Raleigh Collins. "Glad he's on our side."
