The Anchorage Mighty Moose defeated the Kivalina Bowheads, 4-3, in Alaskan League action at Citizens Ballpark. Anchorage pitcher Takechi Nakamura had a standout performance. Anchorage raised its record to 54-44 with the win.

With a runner on 2nd and no one out in the bottom of the third inning, third baseman Carlos Silva delivered big for the Mighty Moose. Anchorage was trailing 3-1 when he belted a 2-run home run.

"We try to keep the mood light around here," said Nakamura. "Winning helps."
