Gunslingers Pull Out Late Win, 3-2
|
The Dawson City Gunslingers earned a close win over the Barrow Arctic Blast, thanks in part to Takeji Yamasaki. The Dawson City right-hander, who is tied for 7th in the AL in wins with 9, played a key role in the 3-2 victory. Katsuhiko Mikami finished the game for Dawson City and earned his 17th save. The Gunslingers are now 62-34, while the Arctic Blast fall to 46-50.
Liam Potts came through with a big-time hit for Dawson City. The first baseman smacked a 3-run home run in the top of the ninth inning to give his team the lead, 3-2. It was his only hit, but it was clutch.
"Both teams played hard," said Dawson City manager Sergio Román.
