A 4-RBI performance from right fielder Motoyuki Ito, who leads the AL in triples with 5, led the Ketchikan Salmon to a win over the Dawson City Gunslingers, 8-4. Jun Kono picked up the win with 7.1 innings of work. He allowed 4 runs on 5 hits, while walking 2 and striking out 2. On the season, he is now 9-5. At 62-31, the Salmon find themselves in first place in the Alaskan League Fisher.
Ito had a key at-bat for Ketchikan in the top of the second. With the bases loaded, he hit a grand slam home run. It was his 16th home run of the season and gave Ketchikan an early 4-0 lead.
"Helping the team win is what it's all about," said Ito.
