Traders Secure 3-2 Win
|
Kenai Traders starter Manny Méndez was on his game, helping his team beat the Akutan Island Eagles, 3-2. Logan Larsen, who is tied for 3rd in the AL in saves with 18, earned the save for Kenai. At 49-45, the Traders are currently third in the Alaskan League Oiler.
The result might have been different, had it not been for 22-year old shortstop Roger Darrah. Darrah had a run-scoring double in the top of the seventh inning to put the Traders ahead, 3-2. For the game, Darrah had 1 double and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
Kenai manager Sammy Brown called it "a darn good win."
