Mighty Moose 6-1 Winners Versus Taku
|
No one was more impactful than Takafumi Samurakami in the 6-1 Anchorage win over Taku. Samurakami, who was drafted in the 2nd round of the 2039 draft, went 2-3 with a home run and a walk, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. Noriaki Masuda, the winning pitcher, is now 4-1. He went 6 innings, allowing no runs on 7 hits, while fanning 5 and walking 0. The second-place Mighty Moose hiked their record to 50-40.
The Mighty Moose got a big hit from first baseman Luis López. Facing Taku pitcher Ken Everhart in the bottom of the fifth, López pounded a 3-run home run to left-center. His 23rd home run of the season put the Mighty Moose ahead, 3-0.
"We'll put this win in our pocket and go after the next one," said López.
