The Sitka Capitals had to overcome a good performance from Wasilla pitcher Samuel Johnston to claim a 3-2 win at Oceans Ballpark. Johnston went 6.2 innings and allowed 2 runs. The win was credited to 19-year old left-handed pitcher Gary Walcott in relief. His record improves to 3-0. Domingo Contreras took the loss. The last-place Capitals are 37-49.

Octávio Torres came through with a big-time hit for Sitka. The pinch hitter smacked a solo home run in the top of the ninth inning to give his team the lead, 3-2. It was his only hit, but it was clutch.

"It doesn't matter if you're 10 games over .500 or 10 games under, it feels good to win," Torres told the Sitka Herald.
