Eagles 7-3 Winners Versus Sitka
|
Sitka got a terrific game from catcher César Meléndez. It wasn't enough, though, to prevent the team from falling to Akutan Island, 7-3. Meléndez was 2 for 3 with a home run and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. Gérard Léonard finished to wrap up his 14th save. The 4th-place Eagles now have a record of 36-44.
Luis Rogers cracked a home run off Shigeru Ueda in the bottom of the fifth. His 2-run blast put the Eagles on top, 2-0. In all, Rogers had 1 single in addition to the home run, while going 2 for 4.
"Some wins are easy and some are difficult, but either way we come to the ballpark ready to work hard every day," Rogers told the Akutan Island Bulletin.
