Eagles Hand Sitka 6-2 Loss
|
Akutan Island Eagles starter Miguel Tobías turned in a top-notch performance against the Sitka Capitals at Enfield Grounds. The result was a win for the Eagles, 6-2. Akutan Island reliever José Moreno got the win, raising his record to 5-2. Ron Garrett was tagged with the loss. At 35-44, the Eagles find themselves in 4th place in the Alaskan League Klondike.
Patrick Dean hit a 2-run home run off Ron Garrett in the bottom of the sixth, which put the Eagles ahead, 2-1. In addition to the homer, Dean had 1 double, while going 2 for 4.
"Trying isn't good enough in this league," said Dean. "You've got to get results."
