Anchorage Collects 6-3 Win
|
The Anchorage Mighty Moose topped the Wasilla Sledge Dogs, 6-3, in Alaskan League action at Citizens Ballpark. The standout performance belonged to Anchorage pitcher and Maruoka, Japan, native Noriaki Masuda. In 6.1 innings, Masuda surrendered 5 hits, while striking out 5 and walking 2. He allowed 3 runs. The save went to Pat Clark, number 6 for him.
The Mighty Moose got a big at-bat from catcher Billy Davis. For the game, Davis went 1 for 3 with a home run, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. In the bottom of the second, with runners on 1st and 3rd, he stroked a 3-run home run. His 15th home run of the season gave Anchorage a 4-1 lead.
"We can always improve and get better, but we're feeling confident after that win," said Davis.
The Mighty Moose now have a mark of 42-38.
