Eager fans turned out for a matchup between the Barrow Arctic Blast and Taku Winds.
The Barrow Arctic Blast went home winners at Ballpark of Carthage, thanks in large part to starter Shane Posey. Posey stifled the Taku Winds, enabling Barrow to grab the 4-1 win. Posey, now 5-2, was the winner. In 6 innings, he gave up 2 hits, while striking out 5, walking 5, and allowing 1 run. Israhel Wendlinger earned the save for Barrow, his 8th.
With the bases empty and one out in the bottom of the first inning, first baseman Carlos García delivered big for the Arctic Blast. Barrow was trailing 1-0 when he belted a solo home run.
"We'll kick back tonight and enjoy this win," said García.
The 5th-place Winds now sit at 33-44.
