The Skagway Prospectors withstood a fine game by Barrow shortstop Sumitomo Abe at Prospector Park, to upend the Arctic Blast, 7-2. Abe was 2-4 with 2 home runs. Skagway is now 32-40, Barrow 34-38.

Skagway catcher Eugene Roberts contributed a timely at-bat in the bottom of the fourth. With two down, he hit a splitter to center field for a run-scoring single. It was his 32nd hit of the season and put the Prospectors ahead, 3-1.

"I always go out there hoping to contribute," said Roberts.
