Fans were not deterred by the threat of rain. They came to see their hometown Taku Winds take on the Ketchikan Salmon.

A 4-RBI performance from the 21-year old second baseman Mario Puente helped the Taku Winds beat the Ketchikan Salmon, 10-2. Didier Peter, the winning pitcher, is now 4-8. He went 7.1 innings, allowing 2 runs on 7 hits, while fanning 7 and walking 4.

With Taku leading 3-0 in the bottom of the third, Puente hit a fastball from Jun Kono for a 3-run home run. It was his 17th home run of the season and put the Winds ahead, 6-0.

Ketchikan manager Ricardo Pérez said "nothing went right"in the blowout loss.

The 5th-place Winds bumped their record to 32-41.
