4-2 Loss Deepens Anchorage Funk
|
Dan Wallace was superb against Anchorage. The left-hander, who is tied for 8th in the AL with a 10.3 K/9 rate, had a fastball that was virtually unhittable at times. The result was a Gunslingers victory. The score was 4-2. The winning pitcher was Wallace, now 2-2. He tossed 5.2 innings of 3-hit ball, while walking 2 and fanning 11. Katsuhiko Mikami closed it out for his 9th save.
With two out in the bottom of the first, David Daniels put Dawson City in front, 3-0, with a 2-run single. The Gunslingers went on to win the ballgame.
"Dan gave us everything he had," said Dawson City manager Sergio Román.
Anchorage now owns a losing streak of 7 games.
