Akutan Island took on Homer in front of a lively crowd.

Gabriel Gutiérrez, who is tied for 4th in the AL in strikeouts with 96, pitched well, but the Homer Wallbangers still fell short, losing, 3-0, to the Akutan Island Eagles at Enfield Grounds. The win went to José Moreno in relief, making him now 3-2. Gabriel Gutiérrez took the loss for Homer.

In the bottom of the fourth, Patrick Dean delivered a clutch hit. With two gone and runners on 2nd and 3rd, the Akutan Island shortstop hit a 2-run single, putting the Eagles in front, 3-0.

"The effort we put into this one paid off," Dean said.

The Eagles improved their record to 28-40 with the win over Homer.
