The exploits of first baseman Carlos García helped the Barrow Arctic Blast defeat the Sitka Capitals, 6-2. García was 3 for 5 with 2 home runs and a double, while adding 4 RBI and scoring twice. Jay Gallimore was the winner. He's now 3-0. The loser was 19-year old right-handed pitcher Ron Garrett. The Arctic Blast now have a record of 32-35 with the win over Sitka.

Barrow grabbed the momentum in the bottom of the fifth, when García hit a 2-run home run off Ron Garrett. His 10th home run of the season put the Arctic Blast out in front, 3-1.

"I'm trying to see the ball big, see the ball up in the zone and put the barrel on it," García told the Barrow Times.
