The Taku Winds downed the Kivalina Bowheads, 1-0, at The Sanctuary. Stellar pitching by Brady Mateo had a lot to do with it. The right-hander, who is rated as the 85th best prospect by BNN, handcuffed his opponent all game. Karl Tinker collected his 6th save. The losses continue to add up for Kivalina, having now dropped 8 straight.
Mateo gave Taku a solid start. The right-hander allowed no runs on 2 hits over 7.1 innings.
"Brady's focus was outstanding. The way he handled every moment -- when there was a little trouble, he didn't lose his tempo or his rhythm," said Taku manager Joe Buchanan.
