The Cold Bay Eleven beat the Anchorage Mighty Moose, 6-2, at Citizens Ballpark. The win was due in part to third baseman Ricardo López, who went 2 for 3 with a home run, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 2. Today's win puts Cold Bay at 20-44, while Anchorage falls to 35-29.
The Eleven got a big at-bat from designated hitter Manuel Matos. For the game, Matos was 1-5 with a home run, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. In the top of the first, with the bases empty, he stroked a solo home run. His 8th home run of the season gave Cold Bay a 1-0 lead.
"I know we have our doubters," said Anchorage manager Jason Meléndez. "But I still have high hopes for this team."
