António Córdova never let Barrow get something going. The Homer right-hander commanded his changeup in pitching the Wallbangers to a 3-1 win. Córdova picked up the win for Homer, going 7.2 innings. He gave up 1 run on 4 hits. He now sports a record of 3-4. César Sepúlveda closed it out for Homer, earning his 12th save.
Orlando Ramos, who is tied for 4th in the AL in bases on balls with 33, helped out the Homer cause in the top of the third inning with a run-scoring single. For the game, the center fielder was 1-3 with a walk.
"António had good stuff. When he did get into a compromising count, he made the most of it," said Homer manager Shi-young Cho.
The win puts the Wallbangers at 32-22, while the Arctic Blast drop to 28-26.
