Arctic Blast Squelch Eleven Offense in Shutout Win
|
Barrow Arctic Blast starter Cris Dávila was in a rhythm all game. He led his team to a win over the Cold Bay Eleven, 5-0. Dávila, now 3-3, was the winner. In 6 innings, he gave up 5 hits, while striking out 3, walking 1, and allowing no runs. Marco Elbaz recorded his 2nd save for Barrow.
The Arctic Blast got a big at-bat from second baseman Conner Cole. For the game, Cole went 1 for 3 with a home run and a walk, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. In the bottom of the fourth, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a 3-run home run. His 7th home run of the season gave Barrow a 3-0 lead.
"Cris went out and got the job done," said Arctic Blast manager Azumamaro Fujita.
The Eleven, now 18-31, have lost 4 straight.
