The Sitka Capitals picked up a win at Ballpark of Cave Springs, knocking off the Fairbanks Grunts, 5-0. Starting pitcher Shigeru Ueda played a key role in the triumph. Ueda yielded no runs over 7.1 innings to notch the win. He scattered 3 hits, walked 3, and struck out 4. His record improves to 2-2. Diego González earned the save for Sitka.

Min-ho Tokko came through with a big-time hit for Sitka. The right fielder smacked a 2-run home run in the top of the seventh inning to give his team the lead, 2-0. It was his only hit, but it was clutch.

"I just tried to focus on getting that first guy out every inning," said Ueda.

The Capitals win now puts them at 21-25.
