Late Heroics Net Eagles 4-3 Win

The Akutan Island Eagles did just enough to secure a victory over the Taku Winds, 4-3, in 10 innings at Enfield Grounds. Nobody did more than pitcher Dennis Corner. Qu-bing Ming, now 1-1, was credited with the win in 1.2 innings of relief. He allowed no runs on 1 hit, while striking out 1 and walking 0. Despite the win, the Eagles have a lousy 13-30 record.
Akutan Island got a clutch hit from Carlos Ramos. The second baseman launched a solo home run in the bottom of the tenth inning to win the game. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a kill shot.
"It's a satisfying feeling, to win like we did," said Ramos.
