Pixies Ballpark did not lack for drama.
The Angoon Avalanche did just enough to sneak past the Cold Bay Eleven, 4-3, at Pixies Ballpark. Angoon pitcher Ryuichi Baba, in particular, had a standout performance. Jason Page, now 1-6, was credited with the win in 1 innings of relief. He allowed no runs on 1 hit, while striking out 1 and walking 0.
Angoon got a knockout punch from Denis Bonne. The center fielder hammered a 2-run home run in the bottom of the ninth inning to win the game. It might've been his only hit, but it decided the outcome.
"This place was rocking at the end," Baba said.
Angoon, with the win, is 12-31.
