Durán Now 4-3 After Subduing Sledge Dogs

The Fairbanks Grunts downed the Wasilla Sledge Dogs, 5-1, at Oceans Ballpark. Stellar pitching by Dave Durán had a lot to do with it. The right-hander, who is tied for 6th in the AL with a 10.5 K/9 rate, handcuffed his opponent all game. Earning his 9th save for Fairbanks was Hidemichi Kawamura. With the victory, the Grunts record stands at 21-23.
Durán was in the zone all game. He frustrated Wasilla hitters while giving the Grunts 8.1 innings of quality work. Durán threw 106 pitches, allowing 3 hits and getting 8 punchouts.
"I made good pitches, kept the ball out of the middle of the plate for the most part," said Durán.
