Arctic Blast Earn Win with Late Rally
The Barrow Arctic Blast cut down the Kenai Traders by the score of 5-4 in 11 innings. Much of the credit went to designated hitter Ricardo Freitas. Freitas hit 2 home runs. He drove in 3 runs and scored twice for the Arctic Blast. Barrow reliever Jorge Mendoza picked up the win, upping his record to 1-0. Jorge Arroyo was saddled with the loss. Marco Elbaz closed the game out for Barrow, earning his 1st save.

Barrow needed the clutch hitting of Merrill Durham to seal the deal. The catcher swatted a solo home run in the top of the 11th inning to put the Arctic Blast on top, 5-4. For the game, Durham had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.

"Been a rough stretch for us," said Kenai manager Sammy Brown.
