|
Dave Durán, who is tied for 9th in the AL with a 10.5 K/9 rate, had a strong outing for the Fairbanks Grunts against the Homer Wallbangers at Ballpark of Cave Springs. The right-hander was a big part of his team's 4-1 win. Fairbanks is now 16-18.
Fairbanks took a 3-1 lead on Alexander Paterson's 1st home run of the season. The 2-run home run, which Paterson hit in the bottom of the seventh, left Homer pitcher Blaine Jenkins visibly frustrated.
Paterson expressed little emotion after the game. "Every game we win now," he said, "is one less win we'll need to get in the end."
