Eagles Win, 6-5, at Sitka

The Akutan Island Eagles and Sitka Capitals played an entertaining game for Capitals Park patrons.
Bruno Eckstein was a major factor in the 6-5 Akutan Island win over Sitka. The Eagles second baseman was 3-5 with a home run and 2 singles, while scoring 3 times. Akutan Island pitcher Lorenzo Sánchez earned the win, hiking his record to 1-2. Pablo Hernández suffered the loss. Gérard Léonard recorded the save for Akutan Island, his 3rd of the season.
Akutan Island won the game in part because of Mike Dillon. The right fielder ripped a solo home run in the top of the ninth inning to put the Eagles ahead, 5-4. For the game, Dillon had 1 double and 1 home run in 3 at-bats.
"Winning is hard sometimes," said Eagles manager Tomás Mata. "This one was nice to get."
The victory makes Akutan Island 10-25.
