Spirited fans greeted the Kenai Traders for their clash with the Taku Winds.

The Taku Winds picked up a win at Metros Ballpark, knocking off the Kenai Traders, 5-3. Starting pitcher Kichibei Baba played a key role in the triumph. The winning pitcher was Baba, now 3-2. He tossed 8 innings of 5-hit ball, while walking 1 and fanning 7.

It could have been a different outcome for Taku, had it not been for Lewis Malcolm, the 21-year old first baseman . Malcolm contributed a run-scoring walk in the top of the eighth inning to put Taku up, 4-3.

Malcolm said his team "played with focus."

The Traders, 10-11, continue their so-so start to the 2042 season.
