Taku turned a good performance from starting pitcher Sergio Sáenz into a 3-2 triumph over the Kivalina Bowheads at Sullivan Brothers Stadium. Thiongo Koriche, now 3-1, was credited with the win in 2.1 innings of relief. He allowed no runs on no hits, while striking out 2 and walking 0. Taku is off to a hot start at 14-6.
Taku got a clutch hit from Gonzalo Torres. The right fielder launched a solo home run in the bottom of the ninth inning to win the game. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a kill shot.
"This stadium was a-rockin'," said Torres.
