James Hits 2 home runs in Farstriders Win
|
The Florida Farstriders stymied the Scottish Claymores, 6-0, at Streets Casino and Holdings Park at Jacksonville. Melvin James had a good day at the plate. He went 3 for 4 with 2 home runs. He drove in 5 runs and scored twice for Florida. The Farstriders lead the Imperial League Dixie by 12 games.
With Florida leading 3-0 in the bottom of the eighth, James hit a fastball from Jonathan Bleazard for a 3-run home run. It was his 13th home run of the season and put the Farstriders ahead, 6-0.
"We were able to put some good swings on some pitches," James told the Florida Daily.
