Fans witnessed a whale of a game between the San Luis Rio Colorado Rapidos Blancos and Calexico Reins.
San Luis Rio Colorado right-hander Toshiharu Eida helped his team edge Calexico by the score of 2-1. Eida kept the opposing lineup in check. Eida yielded 1 run over 6.2 innings to notch the win. He scattered 6 hits, walked 3, and struck out 6. His record improves to 5-4.
Yi-xiao Lim drew 2 walks in 4 plate appearances for San Luis Rio Colorado. The 21-year old second baseman had a key at-bat in the bottom of the sixth. With two out and the bases loaded, he broke a 1-1 tie with a run-scoring walk off Mario Mercalo. It was his 4th walk of the season.
Lim told the San Luis Rio Colorado Herald: "Win or lose, I don't want to see our team outhustled."
The first-place Rapidos Blancos lifted their record to 41-24.
