Scottish and Florida duked it out and the Claymores came out victorious.

The Scottish Claymores picked up a win at Streets Casino and Holdings Park at Jacksonville, downing the Florida Farstriders, 4-1. On the mound for Scottish was right-hander René Padilla, who played a pivotal role in the win. Scottish leads the Imperial League Trans Atlantic by 2½ games.

Scottish used a clutch at-bat from José Silva to capture the win. The designated hitter hammered a 3-run home run in the top of the sixth inning to put the Claymores ahead, 4-1. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a humdinger.

"René just went about his business, throwing strikes," said Scottish manager Germán Hernández.
