"I was just doing my job, and my job is to get people out," said the 31-year-old out of La Romana, Dominican Republic. The award winner made 14 relief appearances this year and had 4 saves. He fanned 43 batters in 59 innings, with 27 walks. He pitched to a record of 6 wins and 4 losses to go with his 2.44 ERA. He received 6 first place votes, as a unanimous winner.
