Torrenas Move on to Gran Final de Mejico Sunday, December 11th , 2039 The Zapopan Torrenas took time to celebrate with the Zapopan fans who stuck around after the game, following the team's Semifinals triumph over the Nezahualcoyotl Coyotes. Members of the Torrenas hung around chatting, high-fiving and taking pictures with the Zapopan fans in attendance at Ballpark of Nezahualcóyotl, long after the last pitch had been thrown in their 4-2 win to seal the series 4-1. "We've got great fan support," said second baseman Juan Jose Montoya. "Whether we're at home or on the road, the fans support us. So we wanted to show them how important that is to us. Some Nezahualcoyotl fans that were there even congratulated us on the win." For the series, Montoya hit .476 with a .478 on-base percentage. He had 3 home runs, 5 RBI and scored 7 runs. Things weren't so cordial on the Coyotes side of things. Their clubhouse was closed to media after the game and all players and coaches quickly dressed and left the stadium after the end to their season. The Zapopan Torrenas will play against the Queretaro Desperados in the next round. Queretaro won their series against the San Luis Potosi Jardineros 4 games to 1.
